Manage and Remove Connected Services in PowerPoint 2016 for Windows

Learn how to manage and remove a connected service in PowerPoint 2016 for Windows.

We already showed how you can add connected services in PowerPoint 2016. Although it may seem that you are adding these services to PowerPoint, you are essentially connecting them to all programs and platforms connected with your Microsoft account, including OneDrive (previously known as SkyDrive), all of Office 2016, even your Windows operating system. Wherever used, these connected services help you access your settings and recent files or templates across all your devices, including laptops, tablets and even smartphones. Additionally, some services allow you to access media and document files.

Across a span of time, you may forget which services you are connected to. In this tutorial you'll learn to explore these services from within PowerPoint 2016. You can then manage or remove individual services, as required. This process works the same way within Word, Excel, and other Office programs.

  1. First you need to find out the list of services that are connected. To do that, choose the File menu to bring up Backstage view, as shown in Figure 1. Now, select the Account option (highlighted in blue within Figure 1).

  5. Within the Account window, you'll find the Connected Services section (highlighted in red within Figure 2). Here you can see the list of services added for PowerPoint. As you can see in Figure 2 above, there are three services connected to this particular Microsoft account. These services are Facebook, Flickr, and OneDrive (refer to Figure 2 again).

  6. We will now use the Flickr service as an example in the rest of the tutorial. Other services will work similarly. To change or remove the Flickr service, click the Manage link (highlighted in red within Figure 3).
