Manage and Remove Connected Services in PowerPoint 365 for Windows

We already explored how you can add connected services in PowerPoint 365 for Windows. Although it may seem that you are adding these services to PowerPoint, you are essentially connecting them to all programs and platforms connected with your Microsoft account, including OneDrive, all of Microsoft 365, and even your Windows operating system. Wherever used, these connected services help you access your settings and recent files or templates across all your devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Over time, you may forget which services you are connected to. In this tutorial, you'll learn to manage or remove individual services, as required. This process works the same way within Word, Excel, and other Office programs.

Follow these steps to manage services in PowerPoint 365 for Windows:

1. First, you need to find out the list of services that are connected. If you have launched PowerPoint, choose Account, as shown highlighted in green within Figure 1, below. Alternatively, if you already have a presentation open, choose the File menu to bring up the Backstage view, and select Account.

2. Either way, you bring up the Accounts window within Backstage view, as shown in Figure 2, below.

4. Within the Account window, you'll find the Connected Services section, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 2, above. Here, you can see the list of services added for PowerPoint. As you can see in Figure 2, there are three services connected to this particular Microsoft account. These services are two personal OneDrive accounts, a OneDrive for Business account, and a SharePoint site.
3. We will now use one of the OneDrive personal accounts as an example in the rest of the tutorial. Other services will work similarly. To change or remove the OneDrive service, click the Remove link, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 3, below.

4. Doing so brings up a warning window, as shown in Figure 4, below.

5. Click the Yes button in the dialog box, as shown in Figure 3, above.
6. Within the Account window, you will see that this OneDrive account is no longer available under Connected Services, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 5, below. Compare with Figure 2, shown previously on this page.
