Add Services in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac

Microsoft Office 2016 applications work well with cloud platforms such as OneDrive. Roaming capabilities are enabled when you log into your Microsoft account within Office applications such as PowerPoint. Once logged in, all your settings, including your recent files or templates, will be synced across all your devices, including laptops, tablets, and even smartphones.

Unlike in Windows versions of Office, you cannot link your Microsoft account to third-party sites such as Flickr, YouTube, or Facebook on the Mac yet.

In this tutorial, we'll learn how to add OneDrive from within PowerPoint 2016 for Mac. Do note that this process works the same way in Word, Excel, and other Office programs:

1. Choose the File menu to bring up Backstage view, as shown in Figure 1, below. Now, select the Account option, which is the first option, as shown highlighted in blue within Figure 1, to bring up the Accounts window.

2. Within the Account window, you'll find the Connected Services section. Here you can see the list of services added for PowerPoint. To add a service, click the Add a Service button above this list, plus sign highlighted in red within Figure 1, above. Doing so brings up the Add a Service dialog, as shown in Figure 2, below.

3. You can choose to add a OneDrive, or OneDrive for Business location as a service. Plus, you can add more than one of these services. Thus, it is perfectly acceptable to have more than one OneDrive account connected.
4. The former OneDrive option is suitable for those who want to add another Microsoft Account, whereas the latter option is for those who have business subscriptions to an Office 365 account. Let's choose the OneDrive option, and we will summon the Log-in option, as shown in Figure 3, below. Enter your email address, and then click the Next button.

4. Now, type in your password, as shown in Figure 4, below. Then, press the Sign in button.

5. PowerPoint will now try to connect, as shown in Figure 5, below.

6. You will now see the new OneDrive service connected, as shown in Figure 6, below. Compare with Figure 1.
