Enable the Missing Developer Tab in the Ribbon in PowerPoint 2010 for Windows

The Developer tab of the Ribbon in PowerPoint 2010 has options that let you work with VBA content and macros. In addition, you also use this tab to access options that allow you to insert Flash movies through an ActiveX controls in PowerPoint 2010. By default, this tab is not visible and has to be turned on. Follow these steps to make the Developer tab visible (or invisible):

  1. Choose the File menu and select Options, as shown in Figure 1.

  3. This will bring up PowerPoint Options dialog box shown in Figure 2. Select the Customize Ribbon tab (within the left pane) and select the Developer check-box (highlighted in red) within the list on the right side. Click OK.

  5. Now the Developer tab is visible on the Ribbon, as shown in Figure 3.

  7. Tip: Follow the same steps, and deselect the Developer check-box (see Figure 2) to disable the Developer tab of the Ribbon.
