There may be circumstances when you want to compare two or more presentations side-by-side. In this tutorial, you will learn how you can place presentations side-by-side and compare individual slides. Yes, this is not a comprehensive compare option within PowerPoint, but this does allow you to compare slides by just looking at them manually, the old-fashioned way.

However, that will get you to another roadblock. Viewing more than one PowerPoint presentation at the same time is little difficult because you have to keep switching between windows. However, PowerPoint does allow you to open more than one presentation side by side. Follow these steps to compare two presentations in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac:

  1. Open two presentations.
  2. Access the Window menu and select Arrange All option as shown in Figure 1.
  3. Arrange All option within the Window menu
Figure 1: Arrange All option within the Window menu
  4. This will arrange both the presentations in different windows side by side, as shown in Figure 2. You can now compare individual slides on both presentations with each other.
  5. Two presentations arranged side-by-side

  6. Tip: This does not have anything to do with comparison, but if you want to copy slides between the two open presentations, you can change the view on both open presentations to Slide Sorter, as shown in Figure 3.
