Issue 010 of PowerPoint and Presentation Stuff newsletter.

Indezine.com just shifted to a new premium ISP - so that you'll find the pages loading faster than ever before - an absolute blessing for a site that discusses presentations and graphics. That's not all - you'll find new reviews and techniques - as well as a revamped newsletter and ezine.
You'll find information regarding an upcoming presentation industry event. There's focus on a PowerPoint add-in product that claims to compress your presentations.
If you ever wanted to learn to use VBA in PowerPoint, you'll find a free e-book from one of Indezine's visitors. We'll round up with offering you a free premium Ppted template - as well as an offer to obtain an entire template collection at half price. Read on.
CrystalGraphics' Ultimate Combo 9 is a suite of 9 PowerPoint add-ins - you'll find a full review of the suite here:
http://www.indezine.com/products/powerpoint/addin/ulticombo9.html
My personal favourites in the suite are Quotations and PhotoActiveFX - while Quotations is a comprehensive compilation of over 35,000 quotations you can insert straightaway into Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, PhotoActiveFX allows you to play with photos to obtain still and animated results you could only dream of - unfortunately, the latter add-in is incompatible with PowerPoint 2002 - CrystalGraphics hopes to provide a solution on that front soon.
The rest of the suite is excellent value - consisting of templates and add-ins - all packaged in a nice blue CD box.
Hemera's Photo-Objects collection is indeed the next generation of clipmedia - you'll find a comprehensive review at:
http://www.indezine.com/products/clipmedia/pobjects.html
I've always had excellent results using Photo-Objects with PowerPoint - it is highly recommended you download a free lite version of the product from Hemera's site to get a feel of the product - I'm sure you'll like it - many presentation people use Photo-Objects on a regular basis.
What's more, I've written a whole new page on using Photo-Objects with PowerPoint:

T3 stands for Presentation Technologies, Trends and Tactics - it's an event that will coincide with the InfoComm 02 exhibition and conference in June 2002 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
I just thought an event like this might interest many of you - in fact I asked Ray Guyot of InfoComm a few questions - find one of them reproduced here:
Indezine: What do you think the T3 event has to offer anyone in the presentation industry - irrespective of their professional standing?
Ray: T3 is a unique opportunity for presentation professionals and individuals that assist presenters to develop presentations and communication materials, to learn about the newest interactive presentation technologies, become better informed about the business environment and current trends affecting business communications and to connect with their peers and industry experts.

NXPowerLite is from Neuxpower, a software development company based in the UK. It reduces the file size of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations by optimizing the graphics and embedded documents within a presentation. A fully functional trial version is available for download from their site

You might have wanted to extend your PowerPoint experience with VBA programming - it's just that you don't know where to start. Fortunately, David Marcovitz from the Loyola College in Maryland has authored a free e-book to get you started. Thank you David - and here is the link to download this e-Book in PDF format (link no longer exists).
If you don't want the entire PDF document to load in your browser, right-click the link above and choose 'Save Target As...' or similar.
Indezine also launched the Ppted range of PowerPoint backgrounds and templates - available from a new companion site at:

During the preparation of this issue of the PowerPoint Ezine, I received assistance and feedback from Adam Crowley, Brian Reilly, Echo Swinford, Ellen Finkelstein, Kathy Jacobs, Michael Koerner and Steve Rindsberg. I would like to use this platform to thank them for their help.
