Note: Microsoft is closing Docs.com on December 15, 2017, and have asked users to remove or migrate their content from
this site.
When you
upload a file on Docs.com, you may after that
want to share the same file on a social media
site or send it as link to other people. But that's not all -- for, at other times, you may also want to embed the file on a web page, such as
your blog or even your website. That's possible -- and in this tutorial, we'll show you how to use the Embed option within
Docs.com:
- Sign into your Docs.com account, and thereafter select
and click the file which you want to embed.
What's a Docs.com account?
A Docs.com account is the same as your Microsoft Account -- learn more in our
Microsoft account page.
- We selected a PowerPoint file. This opens the chosen file in a new page within
PowerPoint Online, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1: Embed button
Note: We ended up launching PowerPoint Online since we selected a PowerPoint file. Depending upon the file you choose, your
resulting options may differ -- but the options will still be similar enough for you to understand and follow the concepts explained further
on this page.
- Now click the Embed button, shown highlighted in red within Figure 1,
above.
- This brings up a pop-up window with embed options, as shown in Figure 2.

Figure 2: Embed options
Embed options are explained below, as marked in Figure 2, above:
- Embed code: Here you'll get the embed code of the file you have selected.
- Size: Provides size variation for the embed code. Choose from Small, Medium,
and Large sizes.
- Preview: Here you can see the preview of how the file will appear, once it has been embedded. Also, the size you choose is reflected within the preview.
Choose an option based on your requirement.
- Select and copy the embed code -- you can now paste this code within your web page or blog editor, as required.
