Once you add Bookmarks to an audio clip, you may
want to edit or remove one or more Bookmarks altogether. In PowerPoint, you can't edit a Bookmark. For example, you cannot change the
time position of your Bookmark from 30 seconds to 28 seconds. To achieve this change, you have to delete the earlier Bookmark, and then
add a new Bookmark on the time position that you want.
Note: A Bookmark for an audio clip is a saved time position within the Player Control bar (highlighted
in red within Figure 1, below) of the clip.
Follow these steps to learn how to remove a selected Bookmark from an audio clip in
PowerPoint 2016:
-
Open your presentation, and navigate to the required slide where you have already
inserted an audio clip. If your audio clip has no
Bookmarks added, go ahead and
add a Bookmark. The audio clip that you see in
Figure 1, below has four bookmarks added. Notice the white dots that represent these bookmarks within the
red highlighted area.

Now, within the Player Controls bar, click on the Bookmark that you want to remove. Note that if you place your cursor
over the Bookmark you can see the Bookmark's name and time position in a tool tip (see Figure 2, below). A selected
Bookmark is indicated by a yellow dot, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 2.

With your Bookmark selected, click on the Audio Tools Playback tab and then click the Remove Bookmark
button, highlighted in red within Figure 3, below.

Note: Do not press the Delete key on your keyboard. That will delete the entire audio clip from your
slide!
-
This removes the Bookmark from the audio clip, as shown in Figure 4. If you removed any Bookmark by error, quickly undo
the last action by pressing Ctrl+Z.
