Presentation Summit 2020 |
Here is a message from Rick Altman, host of the annual Presentation Summit conference. Indezine has been associated with the conference since its inception and is a media partner. |

Many of you know me from your time in the presentation community and from my time as host of the Presentation Summit. In 18 seasons Indezine editor Geetesh Bajaj has missed exactly one conference; 17 out of 18 is an incredible batting average. It shows just how aligned are the hopes, pursuits, and dreams of our two organizations.
The other thing we know about Geetesh’s readership – i.e. all of you – is that you are more geographically diverse than just about any community in the presentation space. Country, ethnicity, culture, background…I’d be surprised if a few of you aren’t reading this now from your headquarters on Antarctica!
We also know that travel to the United States is difficult, and travel within the US is often challenging, even under the best of circumstances. If that describes your situation, then this is your year. This is your time to join us at the virtual version of the Presentation Summit, Aug 10-13.
When the world changed back in March, the dates of our conference placed us in a particularly precarious place. Just about everyone we spoke with predicted that the world’s societies would be reopened by then, but we were not as confident. We weren’t sure you would be ready to travel yet and we were not confident that your employers would have intact training budgets. Equally important, we were afraid of what social distancing would do to the quality of the in-person experience. So even though we were five months out, everything pointed toward our moving the Summit to the cloud.
What does this mean for you? Unprecedented access to the best instruction that the presentation community offers: |
Seminars
Our seminars will remain as authoritative, incisive, relevant, practical, and inspiring as ever. |
Help Center
The Help Center will continue to be the savior to anyone who has questions about PowerPoint that have gone unanswered. |
Connections
Networking opportunities will be as robust and as rewarding as technology permits. |
Inclusivity
And the environment of sharing will be as inclusive as we can possibly make it. |
Will it be the same as the in-person experience? No, that is simply not possible; I have staked my entire livelihood on that belief. But your access to this level of learning will be truly unprecedented: One quarter of the price and no travel or lodging required.
Some of you might have to set your alarm clocks or stay up past your bedtimes (we’ll start at 8:30a GMT -7) and we’ll make sure that every seminar is recorded and available for on-demand viewing if you prefer a more convenient time. But no matter what, there will be no better opportunity to learn presentation best practices from the masters and hone PowerPoint skills from the experts than the 2020 Presentation Summit.
We’re working really hard to create a “there” there and we hope you will join us there. |
