We have already explored the Toolbox within PowerPoint 2011 for Mac, and how its various tabs are chock-a-block with options that let you work easily with your slide objects. The second tab within the Toolbox is called the Scrapbook, and what the Scrapbook does in itself is very unique because it is one of the very few features only available in PowerPoint for Mac, with no equivalent option for Windows users of PowerPoint. Yes, it is an extension of the clipboard, which even Windows users have access to, but the Scrapbook is a clipboard that can be cataloged and saved for future use.
You can see the Scrapbook tab in Figure 1.

Adding clips to Scrapbook
You can add the clips manually or automatically within the Scrapbook tab by changing some settings. Follow these steps and explore how the Scrapbook works:
- Select something on your slide, maybe some text, a graphic, a chart, or whatever you use often and need to add to future slides.
- Locate the Scrapbook tab of the Toolbox, and click the Add button (the green button with the plus sign).
- You can also access the Add Selection option, and more possibilities by clicking the small down arrow next to Add button to summon a pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 2.

- All the four Add options are explained below:
- Add Selection: This option is the same as clicking the Add button, adds your selected content to the scrapbook manually.
- Add File: This option allows you to browse to, and add a file to your Scrapbook from any other location of your computer.
- Add from Clipboard: This option adds the last copied slide object.
- Always Add Copy: Select this option to enable adding clips automatically to the Scrapbook tab every time you copy something with the copy command. This adds a check mark in front of the option as shown in Figure 3 – click again to disable this option.
