Sections make your presentation slides easy to manage. You can add and rename sections to logically categorize your presentation slides. Even after dividing your slides into Sections, you can move slides between sections in PowerPoint 2010 as explained below:
- Open your presentation that already has Sections. Access Slide Sorter view and click upon the slide that you want to move to a different Section. In Figure 1, below you can see that we selected slide 8 within the Section named 'Overview and Objectives' (shown highlighted in red within Figure 1), the selected slide is identified by the yellow glow around it (refer to Figure 1 again). Similarly, you can also select multiple slides (both sequential or non sequential).

- Drag the selected slide(s) with the mouse button held down to the Section where you want it to be moved. In Figure 2, below you can see that the selected slide is being dragged into a new Section named 'Sample Slides for Visuals' (shown highlighted in red within Figure 2). You can see a vertical line at the position where the slide will be relocated, as shown highlighted in blue within Figure 2. You can also drag the slide to a position between two already existing slides.

- Release the mouse button when the cursor is at the position where you want to move the slide(s). This will move the selected slide(s) from the previous Section to the new Section, as shown in Figure 3.
