Excerpt/Capsule: Learn how to create a semicircle in PowerPoint 2007.
PowerPoint 2007 makes it easier to draw a semi-circle than in PowerPoint 2003 and previous versions, but it still isn't as intuitive. However, the steps in this tutorial will make it easy for you:
- Launch PowerPoint. Most of the time, PowerPoint will open with a new slide in a presentation -- PowerPoint 2007 users can change the slide layout to Blank (or Title Only) by selecting Home tab | Layout | Blank (or Title Only).
- Under the Home or Insert tab of the Ribbon, choose the Shapes button to view the Shapes gallery that you can see in Figure 1.

- In the Basic Shapes category, choose the Pie option and then drag and draw on your slide to end up with a Pie shape as shown in Figure 2.

Figure 3: Pie shape
- You'll see that the pie has two diamond-shaped, yellow handles -- drag the top handle towards the left so that you end up with a semi-circle as shown in Figure 3.

- Save your presentation.
