Product Showcase

This is a preview of Series 03 of Andrew's Plug-ins from Graphicxtras -- I explored Series 01 and Series 02 earlier.

Series 03 is called Photomagicks and is more oriented towards digital camera photographers.

This page of preview images shows you the default effects as they are without any tweaking of the sliders. Also, I'm keeping the text narrative to a minimum -- let the pictures speak for themselves.

This original image was sourced from Indezine Photos.

Blur - Inverse
Figure 1: Blur - Inverse -- Inverses the colors and blurs at the same time.

Blur - ShakeMix
Figure 2: Blur - ShakeMix -- Provides a shaky blur effect.

Color - Framer
Figure 3: Color - Framer -- Applies a painterly, feathered border.

Color - Grayscale
Figure 4: Color - Grayscale -- Converts the image into grayscale with plenty of customization options.

Color - Mixup
Figure 5: Color - Mixup -- Applies effects like blur, posterization, solarization etc. and manipulates color channel mixing.

Color - PersentAdd
Figure 6: Color - PersentAdd applies a color overlay on the image.

Color - Phasedout
Figure 7: Color - Phasedout reduces the colors from the image

Gradient - GradientCombo3
Figure 8: Gradient - GradientCombo3 generates different types of gradient on the image, use blending modes to get some great results.

Noise - Reverse
Figure 9: Noise - Reverse gives a grainy effect with inversed/negative colors.

Utility - Sharper
Figure 10: Utility - Sharper enhances the image.

As you can see, most of these effects work best when combined over separate layers with blending modes although you could also use one of these all in itself as well.

Adobe Captivate's Edit View

In an earlier post last week, I discussed Adobe Captivate's views and compared them to PowerPoint's deafult views. I also explained about the Storyboard View. In this post, I'll look at Captivate's Edit view, which in many ways is similar to PowerPoint's Normal view. If you are not already in Edit view within Captivate, choose the View drop-down in the toolbar, and select Edit View.
