AKVIS, creator of various Adobe Photoshop plug-ins has announced a holiday season contest -- in this conversation Katerina Kharina of AKVIS tells us more.
Geetesh: Tell us more about the various contests you have launched.Katerina: This time, we have launched
three contests:
- New Year Collage -- the task consists in creating a New Year photo collage using any AKVIS programs and the provided photos, available on the contest page. You can also add elements from your images, but the provided photos should be the basis for the photo collage.
- Four Seasons -- turn summer to winter, winter to autumn! Everything is possible with AKVIS software! Take one of the provided photos, and use one or several AKVIS programs (+ any other tools) and try to change the season on a photo. You should use the given photos.
- Greet Santa Claus! -- in this contest you should disguise yourself as Santa Claus or even as his reindeer. The main condition is to use AKVIS programs. Use your photos, or photos of your relatives, friends (if they agree).
Geetesh: How well do AKVIS products work in the contest workflows?Katerina: A participant should use at least one of our software, or more, even all our programs. He or she can also use tools from other developers, for example, Photoshop.

AKVIS LightShop 2.5 is a Photoshop compatible plug-in -- it's an updated version of a product we have
reviewed in the past. This updated version introduces new ready-to-use light effects, improves compatibility with Microsoft Windows Vista SP 1, and adds a new interface language (Portuguese).
AKVIS LightShop 2.5 can be downloaded as a standalone application, a plug-in version for Adobe Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.

Do you need to make clipping paths on your pictures often? Photoshop has evolved through the versions to make this much easier than before -- yet there's nothing better than getting someone else to do this. It's even better if you don't have to pay sky high rates for something like this, and if you can get these back the same day.
MisterClipping.com promises all this, and while I still haven't tested it out, it looks quite good on the surface.
One of these days, I might use their promotional code and open a free account to try -- but meanwhile, you want to take a look at their site, as shown in
