Seasons of the World: Summer

Summer is one of the four temperate seasons, marked by the warmest part of the year, with the longest days. Summer is the time when elementary and secondary schools close down for the "summer vacation". In most countries children are out of school during this time of year for summer holidays, although dates vary. In summer, people enjoy vacations on beaches, eat ice cream, drink at lemonade stands, and do lots of fun stuff. At the end of summer, schools begin again! And some parts of the world get lots of rainfall.
