Spring is the transition period between winter and summer. Spring is one of the four temperate seasons. Its days are close to twelve hours long with increasing day length. The phenological definition of spring relates to the blossoming of a range of plant species. Many flowering plants bloom this time of year such as magnolias, crocus, quince, cherry blossom, dahlia, etc. The festivals of May Day and Easter are celebrated in spring.
