Geetesh: Tell us about PresenterMedia -- in which ways can this site help PowerPoint designers get good content?
Art: PresenterMedia is a unique design company. We utilize 3D design and video animation applications to create vibrant and compelling imagery exclusively for PowerPoint. Some may call what we are doing 3D clip art, and while that may be appropriate, the term ‘clip art’ really fails to do justice to the high quality 3D imagery we are producing on a daily basis.
We have created 3D animations and images in a variety of business subjects tailored directly to the PowerPoint user. Our special PNG images fit seamlessly into existing presentations due to their unique transparent backgrounds.
PresenterMedia is also unique in that each of our images and animations can be customized before downloading. A customer can control the amount of reflections and the shadow strength our 3D images cast on a presentation slide.
We also are one of the first PowerPoint template designers to release animated templates for PowerPoint 2010. The new video features of PowerPoint 2010 have allowed us provide our customers with a very rich media experience.
PresenterMedia customers are able to download unlimited templates, animations and clip art through a PresenterMedia subscription.
Geetesh: I looked at your web site, and one page in particular caught my attention -- this page is about the team at PresenterMedia -- can you tell us more?
Art: PresenterMedia is a company made up entirely of artists. Since 1996 we’ve created animations and art work for other design companies and distributors. We’ve created hundreds of thousands of images for companies such as Animation Factory, Clipart.com and JupiterImages. PresenterMedia is the natural extension of the talent and skills we’ve learned working for others.

Expressing ideas using visuals is always a great option as long as you use relevant content. Visuals are actually a much larger family than just pictures -- they can also include content like maps, illustrations, charts, etc. In addition, they often include collections of shapes that function as frameworks. PowerPoint has been around for nearly two and a half decades now, and quite possibly many viewers are tired of seeing the same PowerPoint designs. Styles come and go with unfailing regularity, and there's always the human urge to experiment and play with something different. This human urge extends to PowerPoint as well -- and PowerPoint designers are always on the look out for something more contemporary. PowerPoint presentations or other projected content in churches don't always follow the rules laid down for corporate presentations. Although the presentation backgrounds used in churches should also be non distracting from the message, you can still use a busier background with flowers, skies, people, religious symbols, and other nature elements. The new Christian backgrounds and worship themes from PowerFinish aim to fulfill that requirement with their graphic styles and contemporary Christian concepts. You can use all of the designs in this product for PowerPoint presentations or within any other worship or church presentation software.

At last count, I found that there were at least 3 PowerPoint presentation contests happening online.

A PowerPoint presentation is a great platform -- it lets you create a framework for the content you are presenting. However, since most PowerPoint presentations look so similar and static, there's been a move to use animated, yet subtle backgrounds for slides. Now I am not a very big fan of adding animated backgrounds, yet I do believe that if you use the right animated loop, you can achieve a different, contemporary look. Again, everything works best in moderation.
The product I am reviewing is looping video backgrounds from PowerFinish. These video backgrounds can be directly used in your presentations, or can be used through third party video engines that we explore later in this review.

AnimationFactory.com is a huge resource of visual content that I have known for a very long time now. Founded in 1996, the site now comprises over 500,000 animations, video backgrounds, PowerPoint templates, backdrops, web graphics, sound clips, Flash source files, etc. They have a dedicated team of on-house artists who create this content. Their media elements can be use in any kind of presentation.
