PowerPoint Blog
Like many others, I end up with many programs on my computer. I find that most programs fall into several categories. I need to use some of them everyday, and some of them at least a few times each month. Also there are programs that I had to buy because I had to use them once or twice -- and maybe I'll need them again once or twice a year. Finally, there are programs I use all the time because they do the work of a dozen programs for me! I'm sure SnagIt from TechSmith comprises the last category.

After Jing on the Mac, TechSmith has announced a version of their Camtasia Studio product for the Mac OS X platform!
Betsy Weber, Technical Evangelist at TechSmith mentions on her Visual Lounge blog that "Camtasia for Mac will be available on August 25! Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing more information and details with you about the release. Camtasia for Mac will have a special introductory price of $99, through the end of 2009. After that, the MSRP will be $149".
I'm sure looking forward to playing with this one!

TechSmith's Camtasia Studio product may be branded as a screen recording program, but that description doesn't do it much justice, since we consider it to be the Swiss Army Knife of video capture, edit, and sharing. At Indezine, we have been users of Camtasia Studio for a long time, and any new release of this product is an opportunity for us to play with the new features.

TechSmith today launched one of their most awaited releases: the new version 9 of SnagIt, their screen capture product that does so much more than just screen capture! SnagIt is an indispensable part of any computer I own, and the new version adds many new features and a cool, new interface.

Capturing on screen activity to create a movie is so much easier these days with more powerful computers and software -- and it is also a more helpful way of explaining how a task can be done. Such a concept works great if you want to create tutorial movies, and TechSmith's Camtasia Studio is most certainly among the best products for this type of work.
