I often recommend Hemera's The Big Box of Art to anyone who needs a graphic collection to get started. It provides an amazing array of graphic elements at a very reasonable price. And it does have the best search interface that I have seen in clip media collections. The other day, I needed to create a nice PowerPoint template for my Netiquette presentation - to start with I needed a background that contained email related graphic elements. The PowerPoint presentation is neat. It is an aerial snapshot of a small town with rows of houses and wide roads complete with traffic lights! As you watch, the cars on the computer screen start to zip on the roads as the traffic lights blink green. That they turn only green, and not amber or red, is something you would surely discount — perhaps even find amusing — considering that the mind behind the presentation is that of Deepti, a Class 9 student of AP Social Welfare Residential School, Srikakulam, India. Microsoft is to launch a cheaper version of its Windows XP operating system in an effort to halt the rise of low-cost Linux software.....Microsoft's new software - dubbed "XP Lite" - will feature lower resolution graphics and limited options for networking computers together. It will also limit users to running three programs concurrently - a far cry from the full version of XP, where the only practical limit comes from the speed of the computer and the size of its memory.
